Beginning to feel like a tennis ball or something... [Dec. 27th, 2009|12:41 am]

[mood | tired]
[music |Spiralling - Keane]

In town again. Back home tomorrow. Back in town the day after. Probably back home again after that. AND BACK IN TOWN ON WEDNESDAY. And back home for New Year's.

Curiosity has inspired me to turn on My Guests (for now, at least. I feel exposed and I do not like it. NOW EVERYONE THE PEOPLE I STUMBLE UPON WILL BE AWARE OF MY CONFUSED, MEANDERING TRIPS ACROSS LJ. I spend so much time going, "wait how did i get here" it is not funny. Except it kinda is. So now I find myself logging out all the time, and then getting annoyed at being asked if I'm old enough to handle whatever, and then logging in on one of my character accounts - and so then almost posting to them, instead) and it is weird. Also. I get a lot more traffic than I thought? ALSO. The only link I can determine is that a fair percentage of them are members of [info]topgearslash (three guesses which cluster of entries they're coming to from there, and anything not having "GT" somewhere in it don't count) which is kind of surprising (people are still reading that?), but kinda cool. Hopefully it is not offending anyone's sensibilities or something.

Everyone else, I have no idea. More internet nomads. (Hello?)

.....

Anyway, it is a neat feature! But, as written above, I will probably turn it back off soon.

[mood | full]
[music |my brother alternating between humming Christmas songs and swearing about it]

H -- For some reason, that lone letter was saved as a draft. No wonder I had no idea what would be restored when I clicked 'okay'...

I hope everyone had a nice day, regardless of whether you celebrate Christmas or not!

I appear to have survived the day without any horrible or violent incidents. Largely because my brother and mother have been running interference, but also apparently because the man has finally begun to understand that, yes, actually, some of this (possibly even most of) situation is his fault. Sure, I have to make it to almost 10 tomorrow morning, but most of the following hours will see one or both of us asleep, anyway. So I'm counting it as a success. (Five minutes into the future, the house explodes and takes half the planet with it.)

I'm pretending my mother was amused when I gave her Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. I don't think she'll play it (they haven't had the Wii on it, um. Months, anyway.) She did seem to actually like the rest of the stuff my brother and I came up with. (We didn't really get my father anything. He didn't want anything, in our defense. My brother's situation was fairly similar, so I think mom and dad are planning on just giving him some money to help pay for his new computer. Which is amazing, by the way. Everything looks incredible.)

I finally have my own Sega Dreamcast! ...sooo, now I can play the original Ecco: Defender of the Future again (YOU KNOW WHAT when they ported it, they changed basically nothing except the location of ONE vitalit and I drowned like a million times trying to find the stupid thing before giving up and progressing wit the level AND THEN THERE IT WAS NEAR THE END and I threw Ecco into the wall a few times because there's sometimes something cathartic about the sound of his nose colliding with the stone walls? Sometimes the noise just makes it worse, though. It depends on why you are hearing it...)? And Sonic Adventure, whoo! And... something called Illbleed, because my brother thought since I play Silent Hill that I might like it, or something.

Mom also bought both of us (er, my brother and I) phones. Still not proper phones, really - his actually does have a contract, and mine is another "pay as you go" because I never use mine... but apparently now I can call internationally for pretty much no extra charge, which is pretty cool, I guess. Because... I call international numbers... ever. But now we have to figure out how to transfer my number to the new phone (because I like my number. It's easy to remember).

... and wool socks. Lovely, lovely, warm wool socks. AND A SPIFFING HAT. And an Optimus Prime ornament with candy inside it, which amuses me, and I'm not entirely sure why.

I love that the hotel block sold out by almost 200% in under 24 hours. (My mother making a reservation is probably the best present I got, haha. Hopefully it holds...)

The neighbors are, not joking here, shoveling their front yard.

Into our yard.

Over the hideous fence they put up.

... guys. GUYS. This is small-town New England. In winter. IT SNOWS HERE.

Now I hope we get another storm that dumps 3 feet of snow. I wanna see them try and dig their lawn out from that!

In unrelated news, might(/seriously hope to) be going to Disney World this June partly on my parents' funding. Mom and I've been talking for a while about wanting to go back to Epcot, and now! ohohoho, awesome. I LOVE it when life goes along with me.

[music |The Game of Love - Santana featuring Michelle Branch]

I went with my mother and brother (who is home again, obviously, if I'm going places with him) to see Avatar tonight and woah.

Okay, yes, the plot was hopelessly predictable and a bit heavy-handed in its message at times, but I thoroughly enjoyed it anyway, and it was so beautiful. The CG is... unbelievable, really, I kept forgetting that everything was computer generated. Also, the 3D, while a bit more expensive? Is completely worth it, in my opinion (not that I've seen it otherwise, but). I am too cold, tired, and excited to be more coherent.

SO I AM GOING OVER THERE TO GLEE ABOUT IT NOW.

If you want one please just ask. Tell me what you want and give me a picture. Also for those of you watching Kimi ni Todoke I'll have the new ep up this weekend ^_-

[mood | quixotic]

omg this has a movie! I loved the book by Paulo Coelho. Oddly enough I saw it recently while organizing my apt and thought about rereading it but... with all the new book nah.. Little did I know that this has a movie! No it isn't out int the USA yet, it should be released next year in the USA and UK. It's already been released in Brazil and Portugal obviously and a few other countries.

Whats odd about this, is that the movie is an American movie based on Paulo Coelho's Portuguese novel. I assumed it would be made in Brazil or Spain or Mexico? He is such a popular Hispanic/Latino author... what also worried me is the the main character is Sarah Michelle Gellar, yes from Buffy... wtf? I start to think "Ok let me take it as a movie and try to forget about the book connection then..."

After watching the trailer though I have hope. From what I saw in the trailer it very closely follows the book. ALTHOUGH I did not see Paulo Coelho's staple spirituality in it.. it's just the plot hum... Then again there are a few pensive shots and other things that indicate at least lettin the viewer have an opportunity to think about things for themselves... I'm trying not to have too much hope but I so want this to be a good film. I love Paulo Coelho's books... if they butcher it... I'll be so disappointed...

To see the American site and trailer click here

~It's so weird to see all the characters as white... and in an american city. Kind of reminds me of Vanilla Sky / Cierra Los Ojos At least with that, each had it's own charm. I took it as two different takes on the same story~

If all goes according to plan, I will be mailing everything tomorrow! I... I must say I am sorry in advance to one of you. Y-you will probably know who you are when what I am sending you arrives.

(Sometimes I think I might be a bad person, and then I do things like this and confirm it but I can't entirely say I regret this. So actually I'm not entirely sorry.)

IN OTHER NEWS, since I didn't mention this last entry 'cause I forgot somehow, I - I. omg. I know it's still waaaay to early to make any assumptions, but eee! (On Cybertron?! SO AWESOME. Also, it seems that we'll be getting toys - or at least toy - based on it!)

(I nearly dropped my copy of Game Informer when I got to the article in it, since I got my copy before seeing the thread at the Allspark. WHAT? IS THIS REAL?) (The subtitle of the article is, "The hunt for a good Transformers game travels to the robot homeworld" and I admit I laughed a bit too much at that "good" part.)

Hopefully it is better than the movie games have been. (I've heard the second game was better than the first, but I couldn't be bothered to buy it.)
